Which NLP Program to attend?

There are many NLP based programs – NLP Diploma NLP Practitioner NLP Master Practitioner NLP Coach, each is very different, and has a different purpose.  If you do not have a particular outcome in mind (e.g I want to become an NLP Coach, or I want to increase my client base using NLP), and you have limited time then you can just attend a Certified NLP Diploma or Foundation in NLP program (2 days program) program.  2 days program is a good way to experience some of the benefits of NLP, and it provides a flavor about how an NLP program is being conducted.  If you further want to experience it and go deeper into applications of NLP then you can consider doing a Certified NLP Practitioner Program.

What is NLP all about?

In this Digital era there is so much information online, and if you have not done much research on NLP and what NLP is all about, here is NLP in nut shell – NLP as it is popularly described is, ‘The Art and Science of Excellence’.  People come and attend NLP program to experience Personal and Business Transformation, to break negative beliefs that are holding them back from achieving their goals, learn to set outcomes/goals and create action plans, enhance their communication skills, learn how to manage their state (state of confidence, calmness, motivated etc.).  NLP has become a business tool these days, and is widely used in leadership development programs, leadership and executive coaching, sales trainings etc.

What is the difference between NLP Diploma NLP Practitioner NLP Master Practitioner NLP Coach etc?

NLP Diploma program is a two days programs, and can be considered as a trailer for the main NLP Practitioner and Master Practitioner programs.  If you are not sure whether NLP is for you or what to expect from it, then it makes sense to attend a two days NLP Diploma or NLP Foundation program. This way you can get to understand what NLP is all about, and whether you would like to continue further and learn more of it.

NLP Practitioner is a longer duration program, depending on who (Training Organization – each operates with their own set of principles) is running it and how they are running it.  An NLP Practitioner program used to be longer duration programs in 1970 and 1980 and over time they have been crunched into smaller programs due to business reasons – NLP based programs got lot of attention in Corporates, and hence people want to take maximum out of the program in a shorter duration.  NLP Practitioner program helps people to start their NLP journey as a Practitioner and help others to experience changes in their life.  Example an NLP Practitioner can work with people to work with them for Phobias, Anxiety issues, Beliefs, Depression, Setting goals in life and achieving them etc.

NLP Master Practitioner is an extension of NLP Practitioner where a person learns more advanced language patterns, and other NLP techniques and continue with their NLP journey.  Consider this equivalent of doing a Master’s program after a Bachelor level program.

NLP Coach – NLP Coaching is the latest usage of NLP based programs.  When NLP started in 1970s it was mostly an alternate form of Psychology which was an outcome oriented approach, by looking into positives, and bringing in a change.  Coaching industry was a parallel industry and picked up a little later. NLP is a very powerful way to bring in a change, and hence Coaching using NLP found its place in the Coaching industry.  Hence, NLP Coaching is a very popular term in NLP these days.

How many days of NLP based program is sufficient?

Well this entirely depends on what is the outcome of a person with respect to NLP.  If somebody wants to take up NLP based Coaching or NLP based Change work as a career then ideally they must be looking forward to do till NLP Master Practitioner levels, and then continue to build on their skills in NLP and Coaching.  People like Richard Bandler, John Grinder, Robert Dilts, Judith DeLozier, Steve Andreas, David Gordon, etc have been learning and researching using NLP from last 40 years now.  You can start with a two days NLP Diploma program or directly consider to do a Certified NLP Practitioner program, and then continue to become a Certified NLP Master Practitioner.
